Barack Obama wished the US squad good luck at the White House, and we talked to Maurice Edu about it!
By Eric Beard, writing from Boston
Maurice Edu said he “had never met this President before” because he met George W. Bush during his days playing college soccer with Maryland. This time around, however, “Mo” seemed a little more excited about President Obama. We were able to chat with the Glasgow Rangers & US Men’s National Team midfielder about what this experience means to him. We also talked to him about what his role is for the US Men’s National Team. The interview is above, and the picture and video of the US squad’s trip to the White House is below. Former President Bill Clinton and current Vice-President Joe Biden joined Obama in wishing the squad good luck. Clinton is a member of the United States 2018/2022 World Cup Bid committee, and was President back in 1994 when the US hosted the World Cup.

You’ll see that Edu is positioned directly behind Mr. Obama.
